Haul - Urban Outfitters, The Body Shop, H&M and Primark

So I'm currently on holiday in Hythe, Hamshire and today we popped to Southampton to do a little shopping as the weather was miserable.

Firstly I went into Primark as I don't have one where I live (but we will soon :-D). Primark is a bit hit and miss with me TBH, sometimes I find loads I like and soemtimes nothing. Well today was a loads day :-P.

 When I came out of Primark I spotted Urban Outfitters, which 1) I have never been in before and 2) Could have spent HOURS in. It took a lot of will power to not spend all of my money in there and buy all the stock!

No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream for Normal/Oily - Fair

I picked this BB cream up with (another) No7 £5 voucher. This BB cream is a westernised version of the Asian BB creams that are massive news over there. The No7 BB cream (and the other British versions) are more like improved tinted moisturisers.

The No7 BB cream comes is three different types for the 3 major skin types - Normal/Oily, Normal/Dry and Dry/Very Dry. I purchased the Normal/Oily version as I do suffer with very oily skin. You get 40 ml in this tube (compared to the average foundation which is 30ml).

Threre are two shades available (Fair and Medium), which to me seems very limited and I was hesitant to buy even the lightest shade in Fair as I am very pale. When the product is out of the packaging it does look very scary to my porcelain skin but worry not, once blended in it does match my skin tone pretty much perfectly.

It provides light to medium coverage, laying slightly more on the medium side and is buildable. It does not conceal my blemishes and pigmentation but does even out my skin tone well. I personally apply this with a standard foundation brush but it does also work well with fingers and a stippling/buffing brush. 

The only problem I have has with this is staying power. I do set this with powder and it does keep me matte for around 5 hours but in the recent hot climate we have been having here in the UK the cream has proceded to 'melt' off my face where I have been wearing sunglasses *lovely look*.

No7 Vital Brights Cream Blush in Blossoming Pink - Review

I recently purchased this cream blush with a No7 £5 voucher (you know that one's that you collect in the bottom of your bag/purse and feel you have to use?) The collection is designed by Lisa Eldrigde and is for the new spring/summer season. The range includes another cream blush, two lipsticks to match the cream blushes, a highlighter and a eyeshadow palette.

Blossoming Pink is a deep peachy-pink colour with no shimmer. It seems to dry to a matte finish (cream-to-powder) but if you layer it up to a deeper colour is has a very subtle sheen to it.

I've heard mixed reviews about the packaging but I personally think that it is pretty and very spring/summer and encases the product well so that if you drop it it does not smash.



Swatched heavily - Swatch blended out

The blush (on myself) is a very natural flush of colour, similar to my natural 'actual' blush. You can apply it with your fingers or I find it best to apply it with a Real Techniques stippling brush. I normally just get a bit of product from the pan and 'stipple' it into my skin. I have found this blish to have excellent pigmentation and stays put for around 6-8 hours (on my oily skin).

MAC Purchases!

So I have purchased my very first MAC products, which make me slightly more happy then it should ;-). I have purchased the Paint Pot in Bare Study (£14.50) and a Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme Cup (£13.50). I have also purchased that liptick again for my mum for mothers day, which she was very pleased about!

I firstly chose to buy the lipstick as I felt I should include a MAC lipstick in my first set of purchases as they are so synonymous with MAC. Weird I know but I don't regret it, Creme Cup is a lovely everyday shade which I know i will use a lot and the formula is amazing.

I chose to purchase the Paint Pot in Bare Study as I love to wear champagne-y type colours on my eyelids as I feel they bighten my small-ish eyes up. Again this product does not disappoint! the colour is great on it's own and under other eyeshadows, and you only need to use a small amount each time.

I will review these products soon but just thought I'd show you what I've brought!

I didn't do much today so kept the base make up simple with a BB cream (will review soon), concealer, powder (an essential for oily skinned gals like me!) and a cream blush. I added a pop of colour to the look with the Revlon Lip Stain (again, will review soon). My eyes were simple again, just adding a bit of The Body Shop eyeliner in the lashline to make my eyelashes look thicker.
